Many aspects of farm life may be routine to you as a farmer, but for most children, a working farm is a unique place to learn and discover new things. Our connection to agriculture is gradually being lost. Many children no longer know where our food comes from, what happens on a farm or what a farmer’s work actually involves.
You can give them the chance to experience all of these things for themselves on your farm. Unlike the media, you can offer a real-life learning environment where children can experience first-hand how food is produced, learn about your tasks and responsibilities, and understand the vital role that farming plays in today’s society.

By giving pupils an insight into your work, you are making a valuable contribution to their education. These visits help children develop an appreciation for agriculture.
